About  Us

Over the past 12 years, John McMahon has been involved in providing financial advice to many important clients, whilst being employed in some major financial organisations, and was fortunate enough to work with some individuals who had great and wide knowledge in the business of financial advice and wealth management. During that time, John realised that to achieve longevity in financial services, a combination of knowledge and an honest approach ensured that clients would receive an excellent level of service and also benefit from peace of mind. This involves a versatile approach when giving advice, being up-to-date with all aspects of financial matters required for giving good advice and adapting to the changing economic environment.

The approach that John has taken is to prioritise managing client relationships, as this gives a better understanding of an individual's needs, enabling tailored financial solutions and a bespoke service.

Larger companies have promoted service driven advice, putting the client at the heart of the business; however, this has often failed to fully deliver a satisfactory level of service. Recent times have seen the withdrawal of many large high street banks, being unable to provide this type of service effectively, and made even more difficult by pressures from the regulator.

The recent changes implemented following the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) means transparency for everyone, but most importantly the 'client'. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) aim is for clients to be fully aware and clear on the separate costs involved when receiving financial advice. This favours "whole of market" advisers over the tied adviser. Clients should feel they have been given best advice, rather than sold the product that most closely matches their requirements, from a small range of products.

Many clients say that continuity of adviser is important when receiving financial advice. Clients express frustration having to duplicate information with a new adviser, resulting in a lack of follow-on service, as has been the case with many larger companies. Advantage Wealth Management will deliver continuity, as it is paramount in building new and established relationships, with a commitment to an ongoing service, to help you, our valued client, throughout your financial journey.
